Ever thought what it means,
to be free of the cries and screams?
This world we know today;
it seems there is no anguish and dismay.
No iron fist bringing about calamity,
no starvation; we live happily.
Little us spoilt people know,
of the rest of the World's true sorrow.
Many live in fear,
no more emotion to even shed a tear.
Endless seems their agony;
hopelessly in search of a remedy.
Some under the reign of a tyrant,
no end to their fear, eternally poignant.
Stand up and revoke the incorporation,
then face the risk of utter elimination.
Their freedom their rulers ruthlessly apprehend,
such cruelty in our world we can't comprehend.
This is the life of some,
but around us of such we see none.
No chains or shackles to tie us down,
no opressor to bring about a frown.
We live in the land of the free;
going by our daily lives in glee.
Yet we take it for granted,
the flag of freedom in our land firmly planted.
Not bent to anyone's will,
alien to us the desire to kill.
For what we have,
some are willing to pay the price in blood.
Their suffering they want to end;
their hopeless situation they wish to mend.
Not in fear of torment's kiss,
To them it seems we live in eternal bliss.
The rule of the merciless;
our forefathers had to lift,
to give in our possession;
such a wonderful gift.
Not told what to think or what to say.
We do what we want,
and it should always be that way.

Believe in a Thing Called Love
Finding someone who you truly love is finding the hidden parts of your own entity while they help you extract it from
the depths of your own self-doubt.
The thought of wonders of another soul that matched your beating hearts’ pulses seemed so far-fetched that you reminded yourself every chance you got that love was for other people, and that you would never find it.
That you were beyond the care of a single person in this world.
Because you believed that the real grandiose being that is yourself was too dull and too different for love to ever find it’s way into your narrow path of self-loathing.
People would tell you all the ti

A Moment
Place your hand over mine
Look me in the eye
Open my soul up and
Let it all unwind
Leave me dangling from a string
Wrapped around you, wrapped around my heart
Stretching, pulling,
Snapping
So what are you and I gonna do, my dear?

Dear 'friend'
Dear 🐍
Hey, we first met back in year 9, when we were in the same French class, do you remember? You didn't have many friends then since you just came. Lydia pointed you out to me, you probably didn't know that. My first impression of you without communication was: "Oh, she's a quiet, small girl." Boy, quiet? Nope. You're the opposite of that. You're even louder than me when I ge excited, and for longer too. When we were first friends you seemed to have this bubbly energy that none of us had. It was refreshing to have a personality like that. Year 10 was an easier year with us all friends. Though you bonded more with Dawn, and I with

This poem is about how some people in the world take for granted some things which are of immense value, such as freedom and comfort. This poem has been the product of many hours of scribbling down words and constantly changing lines. It started out as an idea on two post-its and then grew to something much bigger. I sincerely appreciate all of these extremely valuable things which we possess, and I hope there are people out there who also still appreciate how lucky we are to have the things we do.
Many people in the world are suffering with unimaginable pains while we sit in the comfort of our homes and go about our daily lives. Hopefully this reminds people that we are extremely lucky and should always value the wonderful things we have. I do hope this poem will hold a strong meaning to others as it holds a very strong meaning to me personally. Recent and some not so recent world events have given me the inspiration to write this poem, and I have tried my best to incorporate all my thoughts and feelings into it.
